Petroglyphs

Petroglyphs refer to rock carvings or rock art, and have been found on all continents save for Antarctica. They are created by carving, incising, and other means of removing rock to reveal a desired envisioned image.

Wherever you encounter petroglyphs, pictographs  or other vulnerable evidence of prehistoric habitation, please leave no trace, take only pictures, and respect the cultural values and practices of the place you’re visiting. Thank you!
