Late October weather along Montana’s Rocky Mountain Front can range from clear, warm and windy days, as in this image, to blizzards that dump feet of snow upon the plains and foothills. The Blackfeet Indians view these mountains as sacred, and refer to them as “The Backbone of the World”. Montana’s Rocky Mountain Front is the only area in the Lower 48 states where grizzly bears still roam the plains (when they are not hibernating, that is).
