I’ve been to Glacier National Park off and on since 1992, but it wasn’t until 2009 that I was fortunate enough to capture the exceptional contrast in colors at different depths of this pristine, 10-mile long lake. Up to 300’ deep, Saint Mary Lake has a lengthy shoreline, hiking trails and waterfalls to explore, summer boat tours, and excellent wildlife viewing potential, especially during the fall elk rut, and during elk calving in late spring.
