Bryce Canyon is actually an assembly of geological amphitheaters rather than a true canyon, the diference being that a succession of breaks have eroded into the eastern slope of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in this stunning national park. Soft rocks and spots continue to erode away due to wind, water, and freeze-thaw cycles , while harder rock remains, at least for now.
